WHAT WE DO
Orca Swim School is the leading system to teach adult recreational swimming. We help the fearful or beginning adult swimmer to feel safe, confident, and able to participate.
Our students often have taken traditional lessons only to be met with frustration, limited success, and shame for failing at something they perceive as simple. Orca understands the unique needs of the adult learner.
Eighty percent of swimming is mental, so Orca focuses on that aspect by using advanced technology with an online membership platform and mind management tools. This system incorporates right-sized steps to engage the mental and physical aspects of swimming.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Be an agent of change. Learn the Foundation of Change method to teach students how to create their own safety and confidence in the water. Once certified you can start teaching as an employee, contractor or independent business using our proven methods and support.
How amazing is it to be with someone when their lightbulb turns on or they connect all the pieces? Our clients struggle with their perceived self-image against something that seems impossible. Students are often moved to tears when things come together. You could be the person who created the space for this transformation to happen.
This teaching position facilitates a life transformation from fear to freedom. The adult education system, Foundations of Change, guides students to change themselves in the (deep) water.
You are capable of inspiring others and you usually see the possibilities in all those you meet. Are you tired of fitting this inspirational leadership into the box of a rigid curriculum? Rules are good but sometimes they fail to facilitate self-empowerment.
Do you want a place where you can speak up for your clients? Where you are not held back by the same old systems? Our system supports, adapts, and changes as needed for the improvement of all.

WORK WITH AMAZING PEOPLE
Our Founder and CEO, Cori Myka, started Orca Swim School over 20 years ago. She had a passion for water, teaching and understood that meeting students where they are in their learning process was essential. Cori has made it a priority to be client-focused so she could help students to see their own ability and value. This same spirit of giving and trust is passed on to our amazing staff so they thrive as their very best self as well.
Our clients are extraordinary people who seek to engage with life and end regrets. They have missed out on fun experiences and connections with others. They might have shame for failing at something they perceive as really easy for children.
They no longer want to miss out and are ready to feel empowered, to heal from the past and to break cultural and personal negative narratives. Clients come from very diverse back-
grounds with just as diverse reasons for not swimming. These can range from institutional and inherited racism to little opportunity to a negative and impactful experience. Each story enriches student class experiences and builds our community of change agents. All are welcome.
VALUES
Who we are:
We believe that all humans are created perfectly. This perfection is within everyone and there is truth in the lion roar within each of us. This perfection and truth is often obscured by beliefs we create and biases society imposes. Together we can move mountains to bring forth each other’s perfection. We believe that Black Lives Matter. We understand that we live in and are socialized by a community that has race, age, ability, and LGBTQ biases. We need to consistently question, ask, learn and change to reduce these known and unknown biases. Our work is for everyone and not limited by our individual experiences but enriched by everyone.
