One of the best experience I had learning something. The style of teaching and learning is something I will take beyond just learning how to swim. The swimming lessons, aren't just, here are some movements now copy and swim. It's more focused on being calm in, and having neutral feelings about water. The rest come naturally after you learn how to be calm. Definitely recommend it to everyone! Jac and Becky were the best teachers ever! Tysm.

I had a session today with Olivia and am incredibly incredibly grateful. Olivia was absolutely amazing, very calm, very patient, very clear in her explanations on trying things, and wonderful at stepping me through things. I had a bit of a teary moment at one stage because I genuinely enjoyed something that has both been impossible for me and just plain terrifying for 24 years and even though it was very small it felt like a world of progress in just 90 minutes. This was a life-changing moment for me in just one session, I have no words... (which is a first for me because I usually use 20 words when 2 would have been sufficient!). Thank you again, and even though I did tonight please express my deepest gratitude to Olivia as well and I hope to see her again.

My daughter learned to swim at OSS and seeing her succeed gave me hope to reconnect with swimming as well. I took the Foundations 1 class, which surpassed my expectations and allowed me to gain a new perspective on my experiences in the water. Our instructor, Olivia, helped us learn what to expect and figure out ways that allowed us to find comfort in the water. I felt like each session helped us fine-tune skills in a way that worked for each of us, in fact, I learned quite a bit from my classmates and their experiences too. So glad we found this swim school!

This was so far the best lesson I’ve ever experienced. I was able to share a story that kept me from the water for a long time, and Cori was able to show me some new tricks that I had no idea I could do, lol but it was amazing, looking forward to my next one.

If I had known what I would have gotten out of this class before I started the class, I would have been willing to pay twice the amount that I did. It was so worth it!

Every other teacher just focuses on the end results but now I can see why that doesn't work because you miss all the steps in between and you are left feeling lost.

You didn't teach me how to swim but how to live in the water!

I feel great! I now have the confidence to be in a pool by myself and not panic.  I am still not comfortable in deep water, but I am ready to give it the time my body needs.  I am totally going to recommend Orca Swim School for my friends to try it.

The class was great.  It helped me overcome my fear of water.  It is not as scary as it may seem.  The water can be a calm place if you allow yourself to have fun.

Excellent-comforting, patient, non-threatening, good.  Well worth it.  Learned a lot in a short amount of time.  Feeling more confident, but still a ways to go.

Very helpful knowing that other people have similar struggles. What worked well: working at my own pace. Being able to try new things with the safety of a familiar pool and spotter. This class is worth every minute and every penny. I can believe I'm swimming the deep end without panicking!

This class is amazing! Coming from someone who was afraid of just standing in water to now being comfortable and doing things I never thought I would be able to do.

    Dr. Kim Holland's Story

Dr. Holland's Swim Story | Orca Swim School

Dr. Kim Holland a student at Orca Swim School was recently featured in a story by NPR news.  Her story discusses how she learned to overcome her fear of water using the Miracle Swimming technique, which teach students how to remain calm, cool, and collected by implementing the 5 circles into the learning process.

“Learning how to swim is overcoming fear and being able to be awake, alert and enthusiastic in deep water, with no qualms about being in deep water because you know you’re not going down,” Dr. Holland said. “You know the water holds you up or you know how to stay at the surface and get air when you want it and you know how to rest.”
